I’d want to center the bike between the rails
I guess there’s some weight out there, to help balance it? Beyond just the weight of the rig, which can’t be that heavy because they carry it a fair amount, it looks like.
Seems like a neat way to explore old railroads but then, most of that terrain is probably not as interesting as the bits you see in the video.

I'm guessing it acts like an outrigger - the weight would help it from flipping over in either direction.

Centering the bike would be possible, but it would add significantly to the weight of the rig. I’m not sure I’d want to deal with the extra weight.

see i’d be the one that would want a high end road bike and see how fast I can go around the curving bridge. I should probably bring a parachute.

I had to look it up to be sure. I thought that was northern Idaho.

Love those old trestle bridges. Sad to see some of them falling apart.

Those fellas are just toodling along. I’d be right behind you in go-fast mode. I just hope I have enough time to hit the brakes when you go over the section where the bridge just drops out.

This is why
Snowpiercer was such a bullshit movie.
Dudes can’t ride a bike on a train track, and yet a freakin’ nuke powered train can keep going for years on an un-maintained track in a fucking blizzard? Yeah, right.

i’ve never heard of that movie

yea, this would be a code brown. i’m guessing you can see it pretty far up though. What would be cool is if you could deploy something like a hang glider and just float across.

My dad was trying to build himself one of these last year... there are abandoned railroad tracks behind his property. I know he built a frame and cut apart some old rollerblades for the outrigger , I should ask him how far he got. That looks like fun

Great cast and acting but totally crazy /implausible plot. Worth a watch but only if free.
